Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

That’s right, call me crazy, but yes, I am taking a mini-vacation (4 days) right in the middle of busy season. Believe me, I really, really needed it.

Don’t worry, I will be back in the studio on Saturday July 5th and will be posting lots of Wedding & Portrait proofs.

So, I’ve been shooting a Wedding pretty ALMOST every Saturday for the past few months now, and I have lots more coming up in July, August, September, and October! I love the wonderful couples I get to spend time with and all the wonderful people I meet along the way. This year’s Wedding season has me traveling all over 3 states and is allowing me to see a lot of cool places that I might not otherwise visit.

Here are few updates from April & May (more to come soon)…

BONNER WEDDING

It was a fun-filled day in St. Mary’s, W.V. for Ashlee & Shawn’s Wedding on April 19th. Shawn is a Marine and Ashlee is proud to be a Marine’s wife! They are now living in North Carolina, where Shawn is stationed. The cool thing about this Wedding is that one of Ashlee’s bridesmaids, Kayleigh, is also a Wedding client of mine and I just shot her Wedding on June 21st, so basically I just got to see almost everyone from Ashlee’s Wedding again, including Ashlee, who was also a bridesmaid in Kayleigh’s wedding!

GIBSON WEDDING- April 26, 2008

You might recognize this couple from a previous blog about their engagement session. Julia & Larry’s beautiful day took me to Salesville, OH, at the very cool Pine Lakes Lodge. It’s this really neat log cabin lodge on the top of a mountain with breath-taking scenery. It was so much fun!

CAMPBELL WEDDING

A big congrats to Clark & Julie Campbell on their recent Wedding! The special occasion took place at Little Creek Country Club in South Charleston on May 24th! Clark is originally from West Virginia, however the couple now reside in Rockville, Maryland. It was a such a beautiful and fun day and I am happy I was there to capture it for them!

This month’s session with Noah was so super fun! I got to visit him, Mom Courtney, and Dad Adam at their farm in Racine, Ohio.

A few favorites…

My whole body aches as I write this and my feet literally feel as though they could just fall off. Wow! I’ve been so busy & working hard into the wee hours of the night for 2 weeks to get the new studio all finished.

I have to say that I am very happy with the final results. There are a few small things left to do but it looks amazing. I am not afraid to say that I think I have the coolest studio in the Mid-Ohio Valley!!! Did I mention that a group of us young adults here in Ravenswood meet each Monday night at 6 in my studio for a discussion group? We even have coffee and soon I hope to start having some live acoustic musicians come in and play once a month!

Come see the new place located on the corner of Mulberry and Washington in Ravenswood! 241 Washington Street.

Kayleigh and Zach (from St. Mary’s) are my June 21st Wedding clients and some of the most laid back & sincerely nice people you’ll ever meet. We shot their engagement portraits last week in downtown Parkersburg. Kayleigh was also in the Bonner Wedding which I shot in April, and I get to see pretty much everyone from that Wedding again at hers! How fun!

Congrats Kayleigh and Zach- see you next weekend!

A few months ago I had the very awesome opportunity to do an editorial cover photo shoot for InWheeling Magazine, a lifestyle magazine in Wheeling, West Virginia that is also distributed in the Pittsburg, PA area.

The assignment had to be kept secret because it was for the “Couple of the Year” story which was set to be announced and featured in their Summer Issue.

So… for 2 months I’ve kept this thing secret and now the issue is out!

The couple of the year was Governor Joe Manchin and the first lady Mrs. Gayle Manchin!!!

“Friends First: An inside look at Governor Joe and First Lady Gayle Machin’s life as a couple. The two also reflect on what they love about Wheeling, its past, and its future. An INWheeling exclusive interview with West Virginia’s First Couple.”

It was great working with them that beautiful afternoon at the Governor’s mansion in Charleston, capturing images of them just being themselves.

Check out the magazine’s website here…. http://inwheelingmagazine. com/
and pick up a copy at Taylor Books in Charleston, or anywhere else that carries WV & local magazines and publications!

I was very thankful to have been chosen by the publisher of InWheeling Mag for this assignment and look forward to working with them on some future projects.

It’s that time again, to post the latest and greatest shots of little Mr. Noah Leachman. May was session #5 and Noah was looking sharper than ever. Courtney knows how to dress her little man in style! He also got to play dress-up with his Daddy’s shirt, tie, and shoes! How cute!

Next month I’ll be visiting Noah at home & then July is his big 1 year birthday party!

Sallie and her beautiful kids: Mykayla, Ayden & Ethan! (5-21-08)

Thea and her Mom walked into my studio one afternoon in April and I sat down and talked to them forever. Thea wanted me to be her wedding photographer for her upcoming June 14th wedding, however I was already booked for that day. She also wanted to chat about photography, because she loves taking pictures herself. She’s a really sweet gal. At least I got to do her & Ed’s engagement portrait session, which was a blast. These two are great together and you can tell they are really in love! I hope their wedding photographer does an exceptional job and I wish them the very best in their new life together!

Thea~ keep in touch girl! You rock!
