Just a few updates and new beginnings going on in my life right now…

I recently bought my first home on the North side of Parkersburg. I can’t tell you how blessed  I feel to have yet another one of my dreams come true. Home ownership at 30 years old has always been one of my goals and now I can mark it off the list. I love my new home so very much. It’s a Cape Cod style built in the 1930’s with all hardwood floors and a screened-in back porch where I love to relax!

I have moved so much in the past few years, even leaving the Parkersburg area for a few years only to return last summer. For a long time I desired to move out of state, however I feel that this area is where I belong and that I am on the path God wants for me. It’s nice to finally be “settled” and content with where I am. I owe it to all my wonderful friends and clients here in the Mid-Ohio Valley so thank you all for being a part of my story and helping make my dreams come true. Thank you for your continued support of my business and art. I am so blessed and thank God everyday!

I also have a new addition to my family. His name is Willow and he’s the cutest kitten ever!

My awesome realtor Kim Ginther (Prudential Preferred Homes) gave him to me at the closing of the house as a house warming gift. She adpoted him from the Humane Society of Parkersburg. He’s the sweetest little thing ever. Him and my dog Casey are becoming great pals. :)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” —Jeremiah 29:11

I had the honor of doing Mayor of Vienna David Nohe’s campaign photos for the Senate race that ended last Tuesday. Senator Nohe is an awesome and down to earth guy who honestly loves people.
Here are a few of the images I shot for him, and some words of thanks from Nohe himself that were posted on his website at http://www.nohe4wvsenate.com/.
To The Voters of Senatorial District 3:

Dear Friends and Supporters,
It was very humbling to receive support from so many of you. To all of you, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting your faith in me.
I am honored to carry our party’s torch in November. This campaign was never about me. It’s been about you — and our common belief that we deserve leaders who are just as honest, decent and hard-working as the people they are elected to represent.
The change we seek can only come from the bottom up. It can only come if you stay involved, stay engaged, and continue to fight for the government you deserve.
Thank you for placing your faith in me; thank you for your dedication; and thank you for your passion. It truly means so much to me, and I look forward to representing the fine people of District 3 in November.

Summer is just around the corner and it’s a great time to book an outside photo session for your family and little ones.
One thing to consider is your clothing selections. I love photographing kids in bright colors or fun patterns during summer, these are the perfect ingredients for artistic portraits. I want to capture images that always make you smile and remember those magical times in your child’s life, because they pass so quickly. But at the same time, I want to create images that are vibrant, edgy, and unique.
I’d like to recommend all you Mom’s out there check out CHASING FIREFLIES. I have been receiving their beautiful catalogs for a few years now and I just love their clothes and products for babies and kids. You can visit their website and order online at http://www.chasing-fireflies.com/.

Great Maternity session with the Bartley Family on Wednesday. This is the second time in 2 months I’ve done portraits for them and I am enjoying the relationship we are building. I hope to photograph baby Wyatt when he  enters the world in a few months too! Congrats to Regan & Chad.

A few favorites…

This past Saturday I got together with several photographer friends for an evening of fun! I hosted the get-together at my studio in Vienna where we all met up and carpooled to a few locations with models, props, and lighting gear. Some photographers came from Charleston, WV and some from as far as Columbus. We had a blast, created some cool images, and just had a ton of great conversation! I love doing things like this and now and then it’s much needed to collaborate and draw inspiration and knowledge from other professionals that share the same passion!
Here are a few of the images I shot:

I love it when BFF’s get together for a photoshoot! These two dolls rocked their portrait session last week and I love them to pieces. Such fun personalities! Carrie is the one with shorter hair and is a stylist at Jon Six and Co. in Vienna. Neidra (the blonde bombshell) is scheduling a session for her and the boyfriend soon, can’t wait.

I had the great honor of doing a commercial shoot for a very talented Jackson County lady, Mrs. Kim Quillen. She is the mastermind and designer behind a new hot line of shoes called Convertibles Footwear. ( www.convertiblesfootwear.com ) I first met Kim when my studio was located in Ravenswood and she had me do portraits of her daughter and son. I was excited when she asked me to do photos of her shoes. I was able to round up some “foot” models and get a little creative. Kim also brought her own ideas to the table. We are both pleased with the results. These shoes are taking the market by storm. Several major department stores will be carrying them and they were recently featured on Shop NBC. Convertibles have changeable tops on the straps so you only need one shoe to match every outfit with the different styles available! :)
Here are a few of the final images. Look for a feature story on Convertibles in WV Living Magazine next issue!
