Allison is fun and loves to smile, and play volleyball. When you hang out with her, you just sense that she’s an overall very happy gal. We’re happy to have her represent our studio at Parkersburg Catholic High this year! Go Crusaders!

This is the gorgeous Miss Hannah, our Class of 2014 Spokesmodel from Belpre High School in Belpre, Ohio! Hannah loves acting, playing with her Dad’s guns, and being her fun loving self! We had a great early morning session in August.

I always know when I have a session with The Ritchie’s it’s going to be amazing and super creative. I photographed Ty & Kristi’s Wedding back in 2010 and now I’ve captured their beautiful Adley’s first year, from newborn until this recent One Year session! Kristi came up with some great props- her & Ty made the Teepee and the Head Dress! They brought some props, and I had brought some props and combined it was magical! This shoot took place at Mountwood Park, one of my favorite places to shoot lately.

Completely swooning over these images I shot today of the adorable Blaize. This kid is as cool as his name! His Mom got this awesome tattoo sleeve shirt from !

We have never before offered a special in the month of October because we are always VERY busy, but so many asked for it, so here it is! Spots will fill quickly so give us a call to secure your time slot at 304-295-PICS!

One of my absolute favorite quotes by another photographer…

“A lot of days I walk onto a shoot and I just don’t know what I’m gonna do and I just have to figure it out on the fly. My gear is held together with duct tape and the Holy Spirit and I’m just out here a kite in the wind” -Zack Arias

The reason I love this quote so much is because it’s refreshing to hear another photographer admit that they don’t always have it all figured out. The thing is… We may not have every single second of your photo shoot planned out.

For me, I usually brainstorm each morning over my client notes, pictures of their session outfits, and a tall cup of coffee. I get my creative juices flowing and go into the studio with some ideas on what backgrounds, props, or locations I want to use. However, I also let my creativity and client/photographer connection lead me freely during the shoot. Sometimes I can go in a completely different direction than what I had planned. Sometimes when I show up to a location, something across the street catches my eye instead. I can get side tracked but sometimes it turns out to be magical.

I say all of this to say that if you are hiring a professional photographer, you need to trust them. There is a reason their photography is creative and amazing, and it’s because they have the knowledge, intuition, and patience to work through whatever comes up and get you those amazing images. Trust is important for the client and humbleness as well as confidence is important for the photographer. I am humble enough to admit I don’t have it all figured out most days, but confident enough that I can promise to give you a fun and creative photo shoot resulting in images you will love and treasure.

Thanks for supporting my art!

I’ve been photographing Noah since he was 3 months old. Always a good time! Adorable little guy! Here are some favorites from his 6 year old session!

Sometimes a photographer-client connection can be magical. In this case, I felt that connection with Kylie and Spudd. We had a terrific session in Ravenswood in July. I am beyond excited to shoot their Wedding at Coonskin Park in Charleston this Fall. Lovely couple!

Meet Rachel Miller. She’s an adorable Senior at St. Mary’s High School in St. Mary’s, West Virginia. Rachel is also one of our studio’s Class of 2014 Spokesmodels! She enjoys riding and showing horses, and spending time on her family’s farm.

At the end of July I ventured to Myrtle Beach, where I did 5 portrait sessions over the course of 6 days. I had a blast! Here are some favorites from the Deal/Baumbush Kids shoot we did. Loved their outfits!
